Xbox One – New Game Console From Microsoft – May be competing with Apple TV

Xbox one Xbox One is an upcoming video game console from Microsoft. The Xbox One is a part of the eighth generation of video game consoles. Technical experts point out that it has x86-64 instruction set, a Blu-ray Disc drive and 8 GB of unified memory. Microsoft hopes to launch by the end of the calendar year 2013. It has Media inter-connectivity, Voice control, Controller, and Digital video recorder are some of its features – say experts.

Xbox offers some advantages over PlayStation – say, experts. One advantage is that the Xbox is much cheaper than the PS3. The online community of the Xbox is much larger than the PS3 which is a strong factor for the console as everyone would be able to play with other people and friends rather than a handful. The gaming and price aspect are what makes the consoles such a strong competitor against PlayStation.

The online connectivity through the Xbox does charge a monthly amount to the user. The controls are powered by batteries rather than by wire so players have to change batteries each time they run out. There is an option to use rechargeable batteries – however. There is an option for cable vision if purchased separately. There is a need to purchase Wi-Fi adaptor to use this in the Wi-Fi mode which may push up the cost of set-up for some players. Microsoft is hoping to provide competition to other home media devices such as Apple TV and Google TV platforms.
